There they go again. Gene Green is willing to vote for his district to get special interest in a bill that is guaranteed to hurt all. It will keep us uncompetitive with other nations who do not have to follow such a harsh plan.

He couldn't care less that our utility bills will skyrocket as long as his district, which has oil companies in it, doesn't have to pay their fair share.

The bill is garbage, he knows it, yet he's willing to go with it for his special "friends" who probably donate to his campaigns for re-election are taken care of.

Enough of this kind of representation. Either write a good bill that doesn't need special treatment, or go back to what you use to do before joining Congress Mr. Green.

Algae consumes CO2. Algae closed loop photobioreactors can be built along the ship channel. CO2 emitters can give their excess CO2 to algae proction companies in exchange receive carbon credits. I could have an economic impact on the ship channel.

Algae is renewable, does not affect the food channnel and consumes CO2. Algae producers can grow algae taking the CO2, nutrients, hydrogen, phosphates and sunlight and make algae oil (biocrude) and algae biomass (waste). The algae oil can be made into jet fuel, biodiesel, biogasoline and bioplastics. The biomass (algae cake) can be made into nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and organic fertilizer.

Algae can be one way to get the US off foreign oil, create energy security and creaate new green jobs. To learn more about the fast-track commercialization of the algae industry you may want to check out the National Algae Association in The Woodlands. It is the first algae trade association in the US.

Well...it is time for Gene Green to go!

#1 he is representing a mostly Hispanic District that has many talented Hispanics that can get elected and that will vote for the people in the District .....not the nanny state Dem. Party.

I for one will began today! to find a Martinez, Garcia or a Garza to replace the "GREEN" in the 29th District!

I will work to send him "packing" back to Washington as a "Czar" to one of Barry's many nanny state departments....Enough already...NO MAS Green!! NO MAS GREEN!!

China which had to shut most of its industry to "see" the Games of 2008...must be laughing its ass off at our expense. Hope and change.....what a joke.

David,
CO2 is killing our planet. I'm sorry you lost your job designing something that is ultimately dangerous (if that's even true-- we've been trying for years to stop building coal plants around Texas because of their CO2 emissions and never ONCE has it ever worked- we killed them on other grounds), but stopping our carbon emissions is the only way to insure sustainable living on this planet.
Coal companies have known for a LONG time they would have to start paying for their emissions. For the last 10 years we've been telling everyone who would listen that building more coal is a bad, bad, bad idea and eventually you would have to pay for your pollution. That day is here.
As of right now there are more Americans working in the wind industry than the coal industry. Sounds like change. Sounds good.

Well, I worked for an engineering company building a power plant based on coal. It was shut down because it produced too much carbon dioxide and based on the upcoming “cap and trade” laws the owner was not sure they could turn a profit. Well, jolly good for the environmentalists. Of course, I am on the street looking for work. This was not the hope and change that I want to believe in.
