trg. Yes we have a bias- we are biased against sources of energy that pollute- that make people sick. We are biased against technologies that spoil water supplies and give people cancer. And we are especially biased against companies that can't make it on their own steam and depend on government handouts to pad their corporate profits!

I'd like to point out that it was fossil fuels that failed during our rolling blackouts, and renewables, specifically wind, that saved our bacon.

Don't say there are no alternatives! Because there are- we have 10,000 MW of wind installed here in Texas! We have more combined wind and solar potential than any other state!

It's thinking that yours which is biased and closed-minded saying that "Aw shucks- we've been using oil for so long, we've got to keep using it because we have no alternatives." Thinking like that keeps us dependent on fuels that require us to pollute. Fuels that cause climate change. Fuels which are, by their very nature, limited and unsustainable.

We're not saying end all fossil fuel use tomorrow. This is going to take time, just as it took time to replace horses and buggies with automobiles. Just as it took time to put a man on the moon. But we can do it-- and being small-minded doesn't help anyone.

If that makes me biased towards clean water, clean air, a healthy, sustainable economy, cheap and plentiful energy- then yes, I am biased. And proud.

this is a biased website. do you rely on oil and gas daily? why no mention of other energy solutions? because they're like bandaids on bleeding arteries. as of late, i haven't heard of any alternatives to drilling for oil which will quell our demand except to buy it from foreign govts. face it, people, we're dependent on oil. the challenge is to find safe ways to get to it, while developing alternative energy solutions. contrary to popular belief, most of the people who make up the oil & gas industry in Texas are concerned with the environment; it's the foreign companies who don't give a damn because they don't live here. we must protect our own resources, both environmental and industrial, and find a way to take what we need but still be responsible for our actions. so many intelligent people are so quick to jump on the "ban" wagon. "banning" is never the answer. are you ready to give up your car and heat? i will give up my car and heat when you find an immediate and better energy solution. until then, don't knock our oil & gas industry, because that's all we've got, folks!
